Old Fashioned American Apple Pie Recipe

    The Custard Ingredients:

  1. Add 600mls of cream into the pot.
  2. Add two spoonsful of sugar into the pot.
  3. Add one cinnamon stick into the pot.
  4. And cook all of the ingredients into the pot and cook it with low heat to it boil.
  5. And infuse cinnamon flavour into the cream.
  6. And melt the sugar into the cream. And use a wooden spoon to mix them.
  7. And remove the pot from the stove for 15 minutes.
  8. And add two eggs and mix them together into a bowl with a whisk.
  9. And remove the cinnamon stick out of the pot.
  10. And add the mixed eggs into the pot and mix them together with a whisk.
  11. And now put the pot back to the stove for 15 minutes and stir it constantly.
  12. Remove it from the pot and put it in a jar let it cool down for 30 minutes.

  13. The Apple Sauce Ingredients:

  14. Now we need to peel the eight apples with a knife to remove the skins. And cut up the nude apple into quarter (aka slice nude apple) for later. And remove the cords from the slice apple.
  15. And put your apple skins and cords into the pot with 450mls of water and boil it down with low heat for 30 minutes.
  16. Add one teaspoon of nutmeg/mace into the pot of all the ingredients.
  17. And cook it for 5 minutes.

  18. The Apple Pie Basic Ingredients:

  19. Add a 300mls of water to the pot.
  20. 50g of butter into a pot.
  21. 50g of lard into the pot and put it all of the ingredients into the pot to boil it down with a spoon.
  22. Add three cups of plain flours.
  23. Add one teaspoon of salt and mix it up together with a wooden spoon.
  24. Now remove the pot from the stove and next pour it in a bowl.
  25. And mix it together with your wooden spoon.
  26. Put some floor on your table for preparing the pie paste and mix them up into a ball in your hand.
  27. And cut them up into two balls of pie paste.
  28. Add flour on your rolling pin and roll it down one of your first pie paste ball into a first flat pie paste layer with a rolling pin.
  29. Now spread the first flat pie paste into the pie plate by going around the edge inside of the pie plate and in the bottom of the pie plate.
  30. And remove the added pie plate edge around the outer part.
  31. And put the first layer of slice nude apples on top of your first layer of pie paste.
  32. Add four tablespoons of sugars on top of your first layer of slice nude apples.
  33. And make some cut up lemon skins into very small cubes and put a one tablespoon of lemon zest (cut up lemon skins) on top of the first layer of the slice nude apples.
  34. Add 150mls of lemon juice on top of the first layer of slice nude apples.
  35. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon on top of the first layer of slice nude apple.
  36. And add the second layer of slice nude apples on top of the first layer of slice nude apples.
  37. And add four tablespoons of sugars on top of your final second layer of slice nude apples.
  38. And add the apple sauce on top of the final second layer of slice nude apple.
  39. And next roll your other one of your second ball of pie paste into a final second flat pie paste.
  40. And add it on top of your second layer of nude apple. And cut around the edge outside of the pie plate.
  41. Cook the apples pie for 185 degrees AUS/370 degrees US in the oven for 30 minutes or 45 minutes.
  42. Take the apple pie out of the oven and cut around a circle like around the inside of the crust edge 30mm in.
  43. And turn the middle crust into triangle.
  44. Add the triangle crusts and the custard into the hole inside of the apple pie.
